Hi. I recently visited Vilpiano, Bolzano, and Castelrotto. What an amazing area of the world. I am on an extended holiday in Europe from Montana, USA. I love the area here and would like to spend a couple months in this region. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to live and what the costs might be? Any information would be great. My last visit in Seiser Alm was fun and quite surprising actually, as it changed my idea of cross-country skiing. I have never been a big fan of this sport. I always found it kind of boring to follow the same perfect track all over the place. It's too much work and no excitement. I visited Kronplatz and San Candido and I can't recommend these areas enough. Both are great skiing areas - even early season, apparently due to state of the art snow cannons. The food is fab, I was really blown away by the mix of Italian and German influences, and I can probably count all my meals in South Tyrol in my top ten meals ever.
